"This gentleman is holding an rather good example of coprolite, which I
described in [an] article I wrote about his jewelry store as
fossilized evidence that Fred didn't scoop up after Dino. He told me that the
experts were able to determine that this was from a carnivore, from the flecks
of bone fossils in it, and that they were also able to determine that it
walked erect and about how tall it was, from its shape and size. Most of the
coprolite I had seen before was such that you would have to be told what it
was. This was the first specimen I saw that really left no doubt."
